About Toys For Play
Brian and Linda Parrish have been in the Toy Business for nearly 40 years.
They used to own the second largest Toy Shop in the UK (Romer Parrish) until 1995 when they sold to a national chain of Toy Shops. This enabled them to set up a Toy Mail Order company specialising in Quality Toys selling all over the world.
Toys Direct was probably the 1st Toy company in the UK to start selling toys on the Internet.
Brian and Linda are now concentrating on the wholesale side of the toy trade with their new business Toys For Play. Sourcing high quality wooden toys from China which are fully compatible with Brio and all leading brands of wooden railway.
Brian's family have been retailers since 1875 when his great great grandfather started in business establishing the 4th department store in the UK (around the same time as Harrods and Fenwicks).
Brian's father started the Toy Business in 1933 after leaving the family firm. This was the time when most toys were made of tin plate or wood.
Brian started working in his fathers shop from the age of 4! Working every weekend and school holiday, therefore has over 50 years experience in the toy trade!
